A Director of Mission Critical, Sam Allen leads Mechanical Design for data centers both domestically and internationally for Burns & McDonnell, an 100% Employee Owner Design and Construction Firm headquartered in Kansas City. With nearly 20 years of mechanical design experience, his primary focus recently has been program development for hyperscale clients the world over. He is honored to have been recognized by both BD+C and CSE as a Top 40under40 award recipient, is an Uptime Accredited Tier Designer, and is a past ASHRAE Chapter President. Sam also leads the Global Facilities team for the Ohio Region and is excited to see the growth of the data center market in his hometown of Columbus Ohio.
Sam has a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from the Ohio State University, where he advised the Solar Decathlon team, was a Ruth Mount Leadership Scholar, and where he continues to volunteer his time as a guest lecturer and promoting the HVAC industry.
