Mixing Liquids Into Your Data Center – Global Recipe for Success (session)
Don Mitchell is the Data Center Division Manager for Victaulic. He is also the founder/co-leader for the OpenComputeProject Advanced Cooling – Facilities sub-project developing global guidance and standards for addition of liquid cooled ITE into data centers. Don’s mission critical operational experience started as an officer in the naval nuclear submarine program, with subsequent naval program engineering roles addressing quality control, and reliability of ships, ordnance, and missile systems. Don’s 20+ year experience in data center design and delivery included roles as Director for Systems Engineers at APC/Schneider Electric, Global Client Director with Eaton, and most recently work with Victaulic on development and global delivery of mission critical liquid distribution and fire protection solutions. Actively engaged with all scales of data center solution development and delivery, from “Edge” to “Hyperscale”. Don graduated from the US Naval Academy with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, in addition to having an MSIT, MBA, and a variety of industry, engineering, and military certifications. Frequent speaker at wide range of data center events on data center architecture and engineering issues associated with liquids, adaptability, resiliency cost and speed.
